Route 66 : Tulsa, OK. – Oklahoma City, OK.

September 28, 2017. A short stretch today, only 170 km (106 miles). The shorter the trip, the longer it takes us to get there but, hey : for the first time on this trip we arrived at the hotel before dark !

Our first stop today was at an automuseum, the Heart of Route 66.

Stop at the Rock Cafe in Stroud to have lunch. Turnover of Stella will have doubled since we arrived in the US about 10 days ago !

Further on to Chandler and yet another petrol station. Cadillac for sale for “only” 7500 USD, if anyone interested.

Below : picture of The Round Barn. Built in 1898 to stock hay, grain, livestock but from the start it actually served as a community centre, a fine place to dance also.

Pitstop at the Motorcyle Museum.

And then, the highlight of the day if I may say so : John’s place, located in Arcadia. A fantastic and fascinating place. John built his attraction, replicas of Route 66 landmarks around his property. The pictures below will hopefully give you a good idea of this amazing and unique location.

We also met the author of the EZ66 Guide that we are using on our roadtrip. Jerry McClanahan gave us some more tips and manual additions to his roadbook.
